Wadebridge Male Voice Choir News!

Looking forward to the Cornwall International MVC Festival next weekend

Thursday 29th February. Well done to all on retaining the Cup at the Wadebridge Festival, scoring 86 points from the judges so just one mark short of a distinction. Positive comments about effective balance, secure harmonies, wide dynamic range, committment and feeling but also some useful pointers to work on.

Friday 9th February. A good number WMVC members were joined by some former members and members of Tintagel Orpheus Male Voice Choir to sing at the funeral service of Bob Flower in Tintagel Methodist Church. Bob sang with WMVC for 12 years and his wife, Sheila was accompanist.

Rest in Peace.

20th Jan 2024. The year got off to a great start with a social evening at The Swan with over 40 in attendance. Thanks to Stef Davey for organising, Gareth for music and The Swan for a delicious buffet supper. Enjoyable post-prandial sing-a-long too!

9th December 2023 and another lovely festive evening at Blisland….

6th December and The Christmas Season is upon us again. Started this morning at St Petrocs Church Bodmin Christmas Tree Festival.

2nd September 2023

A slightly disappointing turnout for our annual concert at Egloshayle Church on a beautiful evening, but enjoyed by all who attended. Our soloist, Samantha Rowe, was simply amazing.

20th August 2023. Well, a truely lovely evening spent singing on Padstow Quay

Accompaniment by Steve Tyrrell, some seagulls and a few doggies!

23rd June 2023

Well, we’ve sung with some choirs in our time, but none quite this good! Our joint concert with St Mabyn School choir left us quite speechless – impeccable harmony, great projection, all the words so clear! What a lovely evening, and thankyou, Claire Bray for inviting us to be part of it. Hope we can do it again some time.

31st May 2023. Thanks to The Lions Club of Wadebridge for a donation to choir funds. It is good to feel part of the local community Martin still managed to get that cheque in his back pocket!

27th May 2023. A lovely evening concert at Egloshayle Church with Wadebridge Town Band and Stubbery Jazz Band in support of Cancer Research. Wonderful to see our former chairman, Taff Williams back and joing us for the last number “Rachie”….even though he sang in Welsh!!

Well done for an excellent sing at our concert in Delabole on Wednesday 29th March! Always good to sing to a full house!

3rd March 2023. Choir Chairman Martin Lake proudly holds the Wadebridge Festival Cup after our performance of Uther & St Tu and Sieze the Day was awarded a “distinction” mark of 88.

Sunday 26th February. A lovely afternoon singing at the St Teath Crocus Festival
